Lurking beneath the distraction of Covid-19 lies the severe consequences from decades of failed policies inflicted upon Hawaii’s residents by the self-dealing Democrat Party and the greedy special interest groups which are happy to increase your cost of living to enhance their own financial standing.  The cost of living and the cost of housing (for buyers and renters alike) is driving tens of thousands of lifelong island residents to the mainland and elsewhere in search of affordability.  Home prices have tripled in just 20 years under the control of the Democrats who have artificially increased those prices (and profits) at your expense by deliberately limiting the supply of housing so that it never comes close to meeting local consumer demand.  Politicians, bureaucrats and their cronies are laughing all the way to the bank while most Hawaii residents live a stressful paycheck to paycheck existence.  The American Dream is under attack in the 50th State.  Folks are left with little choice but to move away or accept a much lower standard of living.  It shouldn’t be this way.  The people of Hawaii deserve better.  But Hawaii’s ruling Democrat Party won’t ever change course.  Only the most genuine conservative reformers who are willing to dismantle the corrupt status quo propped up by Democrats in our county and state governments can bring sorely needed change.  Until Hawaii’s politics are overhauled and major changes are made to laws and regulations, NOTHING will change for the better.  As you’ve seen, everything keeps getting worse.  The focus on Covid-19 only masks how Hawaii’s ruling political majority is taking us in the wrong direction.  Auwe!
